A River Love Story: Rebecca & Kaden’s Wedding at Weeki Wachee Christian Camp

Some love stories are written in the stars — and others are written along the banks of a Florida river. Rebecca and Kaden’s wedding at Weeki Wachee Christian Camp in Spring Hill, FL, was a full-circle celebration years in the making. This wasn’t just a wedding; it was the next chapter in a love story that began in the very same place when they were just kids.

They first met at summer camp, splashing in the spring-fed waters and bonding over shared tables in the camp’s dining hall. What started as friendship grew into childhood crushes and eventually bloomed into something deeper with time, distance, and life in between. So it was only fitting that they returned to the place where it all began to say “I do.”

A Ceremony on the Riverbank

On a bright and breezy Florida day, Rebecca and Kaden exchanged vows under the sun with the crystal-clear Weeki Wachee River flowing behind them. Spanish moss swayed overhead, and the peaceful rhythm of the river served as the perfect soundtrack for their ceremony. There wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd as the couple promised forever in a place that already held so much of their shared history.

Bridal Portraits with a Splash

After the ceremony, Rebecca and Kaden embraced the natural beauty of the river for their bridal portraits — and added a bit of playful tradition. Following a lost bet, Kaden ended up in the river after being tossed off the dock by his new bride (yes, you read that right). The laughter, joy, and spontaneity perfectly captured who they are together. With toes in the water and sunlight on their faces, the portraits felt like a blend of adventure and nostalgia — something we always love to capture.

From Summer Camp to First Dance

The reception brought everyone back to where Rebecca and Kaden used to sit together as campers: the dining hall. Transformed with twinkling lights, heartfelt speeches, and joyful dancing, the space felt like home — not only for the couple, but for everyone who had watched their love grow over the years. Every corner of the celebration had echoes of their past and dreams for their future.

As the night came to a close, the newlyweds walked hand-in-hand through a bubble send-off, climbing into a canoe and paddling off into the sunset. It was the most Florida thing ever — and the most them.

Why This Place Means So Much to Us, Too

Weeki Wachee holds a special place in our hearts as well. Over the years, we’ve visited often with our own children, paddling through the springs, swimming in the clear waters, and even jumping off the banks near the Christian Camp. Photographing Rebecca and Kaden’s wedding here was deeply personal and a beautiful reminder of how timeless this place truly is.
